Rodney and Sherri McKinley
Senior Pastors
Rodney and Sherri are no strangers to hard work and dedication to the call of God. They have been in ministry for over 20 years and have watched ministries grow and mature under their successful leadership.
They started out as volunteer youth pastors in Tallahassee, Florida.
In 1999, Rodney accepted a position at Abundant Life Ministries Church of God in Largo, FL. During their 8 years there, Rodney oversaw and grew the youth and children’s ministries as well as initiating and developing the small group ministry. During that time, Sherri was the multi-media director at Abundant Life. Rodney has held the title of President of the Florida Youth Leader’s Association (a peer elected board voted on by the youth pastors in the state of Florida) a total of nine times. In 2003, he was recognized in Christianity Today for his “Wednesday Night Live” program.
In 2006, Rodney and Sherri once again felt God calling them to a new ministry challenge and accepted a position at Celebration of Praise in Clermont, FL. Rodney watched the youth ministry, DV8, grow from around 90 students to over 600 in the 4 years they were there. Sherri served as the Executive Assistant to the CFO at Celebration of Praise.
God then presented an opportunity to use the McKinley’s to replant a church in Winter Springs, FL. While at Life Community Church, they have seen tremendous growth from the 10 who were in attendance on their first Sunday. The church grew to an average of 65 adults.
In October 2011, the McKinleys moved back home to pastor the Perry Northside Church.
They have been married for 26 years and have 2 children, Kristy, a graduate student at Georgia State University and Keaton, a graduate from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.
Rodney and Sherri are excited to see what God has in store for them as they continue to seek His will for their lives.
